Food has always been central to our growth. The Yıldız Holding story began in 1944 with the opening of the first Ülker biscuit factory in Istanbul. Back then we were one of the few Turkish manufacturers using modern production techniques. Our diligence and perseverance have guided us for over 73 years. We enter the 21st century as a modern integrated food group.
Our success has brought us strategic partnerships with other multinationals. With the purchase of Godiva at the end of 2007, we gained two production facilities, one in Belgium, the other in the United States. The purchase of Italian packaging company Nuroll in 2011, was followed by the acquisition of DeMet’s Candy at the beginning of 2014. In the same year United Biscuits joined our group. Collaborations with food giants like Cargill, Gumlink and Kellogg’s have made Yıldız a truly global brand.
Focusing on chocolate, biscuits, cakes, gum and candy, Yıldız Holding has been increasing its share in global markets with brands such as Ülker, Godiva, and McVitie’s. Yıldız Holding has reached a turnover of 65 billion liras as of the end of 2019. The company currently employs 63.500 people and has 68 factories; 45 of which are in Turkey.
Yıldız Holding, which produces and sells frozen food, processed meat and edible oil in addition to snacks, produces in many different areas from personal care to packaging, apart from food. The company’ s other focus area is retail sector and it owns fast-growing chain retail companies such as Şok and Bizim Toptan.
Yıldız Holding, having taken its first step towards becoming a global company by beginning to export to the Middle East in 1974, exports to more than 100 countries.
