Before COVID-19, coincidental meetings and conversations in the recreational areas of Yıldız Holding’s Çamlıca Campus were very much welcomed by the employees. Now, within the framework of “new normal”, these pleasant coincidences have been transferred to the “Digital Corridor”. Employees randomly selected by the digital application every week come together on the online platform to socialize.
Paying attention to protecting not only physical, but also mental health of its employees throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Yıldız Holding continues to implement new digital practices. In order to facilitate employees’ adaptation to the “new normal” of the business world, Yıldız Holding has recently launched the Digital Corridor. This application offers a digital version of pleasant social contacts such as coincidental meetings and quick chats that are now limited due to social distancing rules.
MR. TÜTÜNCÜ: “DIGITAL CORRIDOR APPLICATION IS DEVELOPED FOR EMPLOYEE HAPPINESS AND MOTIVATION”
Stating that Yıldız Holding rapidly launched various digital applications to ensure employee happiness and motivation, in addition to ensuring business continuity during the Pandemic, CEO Mehmet Tütüncü said: “Digital Corridor has been one of the most recent practices that we have embedded into our work life within this new normal period. As our employees work remotely due to social distancing rules, we thought they might be missing the candid conversations, coincidental encounters and chats in the corridors of our Çamlıca Campus. This age of digitalization provides us with new opportunities for such cases. Thus, we decided to benefit from digital tools to revive the social life at our Holding. This application has been developed by our own teams and attracted attention of all employees since its launch. We will continue to contribute to employee happiness and motivation through such digital applications in the coming period.”
TO BE EXTENDED TO ALL GROUP COMPANIES
Developed and implemented by the joint efforts of Yıldız Holding IT and Internal Communication teams, Digital Corridor matches employees randomly per week, organizes an online conversation after identifying the 5-minute period that is suitable to the daily agendas of both employees, and automatically sends the calendar and the link for joining the meeting. These online meetings are automatically added to the employees’ calendars. Digital Corridor meetings take place every Friday between 3:00 and 5:00 PM. Currently available for the employees of Çamlıca Campus, Digital Corridor will be extended to all Yıldız Holding companies soon.
